I'm the recipient of a 2016 MSAB Artist Initiative grant. During the grant period, I’m creating a picture book that juxtaposes the indoor gardens of the Como Park Conservatory with the stark Minnesota winter. In conjunction with this project, I'm offering two free illustration workshops, one for adults in Nisswa in the fall of 2016, and one for families at Como in January of 2017.

Four of my paintings appear in THE SOULFUL WOMEN CARDS released by Blue Angel Publishing in Australia in 2016. The deck is a collection of oracle cards designed as a portal into the sacred feminine, aimed at awakening a woman’s inner guidance.

Work in Progress: In 2014, I was awarded a Next Step Fund grant by MRAC and developed a wordless picture book, BELLA BLUE. During the summer of 2016, five illustrations from this project were exhibited at MCAD in a show titled IN WORDS AND PICTURES: highlighting thirteen Minnesota women artists.

I've partnered with the East Side Arts Council to teach Peace Poetry in St. Paul during the 2016/17 school year, a program funded by an MRAC Arts Learning grant and in the spring of 2017, I’ll teach poetry through ArtStart in a program inspired by the Mississippi Flyway, made possible by a MSAB Arts Learning Grant.

Once again, I've partnered with InterAct Center and the Mississippi Creative Arts School in St. Paul, to teach poetry and mask-making in a program funded by a MSAB Arts Learning grant. The poems will be turned into song lyrics, part of a grand theater performance in the spring of 2017.

During the 2016/17 school year I’ll continue work through several ongoing elementary school partnerships, teaching mask-making, poetry, and book-making, and hope to be back teaching poetry at the May YA Conference at Bethel University in May 2017.

In 2014, I was commissioned to create a Commemorative Portraiture piece for the Theater Department of Marshfield University in Wisconsin. The final art piece, a diorama consisting of three layers of painted relief sculpture, is now on permanent display at the campus.

I was selected to create the Official 2013 Minnesota State Fair Commemorative Art! It is such a great honor to have the opportunity to create the poster for the largest fair in the country, and to be part of the rich community that surrounds it. Fine art giclee prints are available for purchase on request (18.5" x 16.5"). A write-up about the artwork appeared on MPR News, and you can also watch an interview and the unveiling ceremony in the video below:

Poetry News: I had four poems accepted for publication in issue #13 of The Ginosko Literary Journal, one of my poems was accepted for publication in Pirene's Fountain in 2013, and two of my tiny poems appeared in the inaugural issue of the Misty Mountain Review in April, 2012.
